Skills development: opt for the Fifty method

The programs of skills development allow companies to help their employees develop positively in their professional lives and to better contribute to the growth of society. However, sometimes the methods used do not always give the expected results. Fifty provides companies with an innovative tool to achieve the goals they have set for themselves in this field.

Skills development: principles and methods

The skills development is one of the means available to workers to enable them to develop their knowledge, their know-how in the context of their profession or to allow them to rely on personal development to be more effective and better manage their relationship, their stress or their organization in the workplace.

  • A business development strategy

Many companies offer training in this direction to their employees. The principle based on assimilation consists in assimilating know-how and interpersonal skills that can be essential in the professional field.

By including such programs in their strategies for development, companies optimize the capitalization of their know-how internally while offering additional motivation to employees. In doing so, they also ensure that their efficiency and the smooth running of activities are improved.

  • The recommended methods

The content of the training courses allows you to gain new knowledge and improve those already acquired with the primary objective of being effective, but also of being comfortable in the position held. In the case of people looking for a job, the aim is to have at their disposal all the assets to ensure future positions successfully.

There are several methods for acquiring performance:

  • Distance learning, now facilitated by ICTs;
  • Lecturers;
  • Situations;
  • Coaching;
  • Supervision;
  • Conferences and trade shows;
  • Group work;
  • Case studies.

This list is not exhaustive and the results may however vary depending on the individuals and the resources deployed.

The Fifty method to facilitate the development of skills in business

The results of surveys conducted with various companies have led to the conclusion that the majority of employees are not satisfied with the impacts of the training provided by their employers. The main reason these apprenticeship programs fail is that they are too theoretical. Fifty proposes an innovative method to optimize the skills development in companies, based on the principle of AFEST (Action de Formation En Situation de Travail).

For this training technique, we were inspired by the system developed by Richard Thaler, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2017: Nudge. Favoring the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence, it is a concept intended to encourage employees to change their habits, to make relevant choices without fear of any punishment. In practice, we have created a platform on which “micro-actions” to be undertaken every day by participants, the objective being to enable them to? improve their human skills as the days go by.

Artificial intelligence will then rely on these micro-actions to design an individual course for each participant, a path that will combine technical skills with soft skills. The evolution of each will be measured both at the individual and organizational levels.
