eDoing, from theory to practice
Blended learning and business skills development
The Blended Learning is one of the means available to companies to set up skills development programs for their employees. Fifty offers an innovative way based on digital technology and artificial intelligence, but which requires active participation on the part of learners in order to optimize results: eDoing.
Principles and benefits of blended learning
The Blended Learning is also called blended training or hybrid training. In practice, this pedagogical formula is a mix between online learning or e-learning and face-to-face or traditional training that requires the presence of learners.
The concept owes its success to the fact that they generally find themselves actors in the process of acquiring or developing skills, thus strengthening their chances of successful development. In particular, this method requires a good involvement on the part of the learners, which makes it possible to perfectly combine theory and practice.
The lessons and exercises given online allow you to acquire knowledge. Face-to-face sessions are ideal moments to move on to practice, but also to meet other participants and discuss with them the different aspects of the training or the achievements, and to discuss with the trainers and ask them questions if necessary.
There is no fixed model and the formula can be modified at will in order to favor theory or practice or to have a good balance between the two. It can be customized according to the objectives targeted and all resources are easily accessible from the e-learning platform.
And on the learner's side, this method of acquiring or developing skills requires him to put everything he has at his disposal to appropriate knowledge and take advantage of his personal abilities. And finally, this pedagogical approach allows everyone in principle to progress at their own pace, as e-learning modules can be managed to do this.
Fifty, an innovative method
Fifty provides businesses with an innovative means similar to Blended Learning and to the Action de Formation En Situation de Travail (AFEST) which will allow them to provide their employees with an original method of acquiring or developing skills. Our eDoing approach is based on the incentive to perform one or more actions every day that will eventually become a habit. The “micro-actions” are offered on our platform and are part of an entire educational journey.
To develop our “learning” system, we were inspired by Nudge. This concept, created by the 2017 Nobel Prize in Economics Richard Thaler, aims to encourage people to modify their behavior according to situations and/or to adopt relevant choices that contribute to their personal or professional development without fear of reprisals. We combined Nudge with artificial intelligence to maximize the impacts of the process.
In practice, micro-actions will be used by AI to set up a personalized journey adapted to the objectives of the participants. The program focuses on both technical skills and soft skills. The results will be measured in real time to monitor the learner's progress and assess the changes achieved. And throughout the course, the AI will suggest actions to be taken based on the progress made.
