eDoing, from theory to practice
Accelerate the skills development of your employees thanks to the nudge training method
Chez Fifty, we are convinced that, regardless of the quality of your product or service, its success will depend essentially on the people who work on it every day. And it is precisely to help your employees increase their skills, all without constraints or penalties, that we developed our solution. Our innovative platform combines the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) with the efficiency of Nudge training method to effectively support them in their work and personal development.
Nudge theory: what?
For a long time, we thought that humans were rational and thoughtful beings. However, advances in behavioral science over the past forty years tend to prove the opposite.
Indeed, numerous studies have shown that people do not always act rationally. They are unable to appreciate certain possibilities and often make rash decisions based on emotion. This assertion is reinforced by the discovery of the existence of cognitive biases, these small mechanisms that alter our judgments and push us to make bad decisions.
In their book Nudge - Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness (2008), Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein theorized that if a behavior or poor decision was the result of cognitive biases or automatisms, it was possible to influence that behavior in a subtle way by altering the immediate environment, that is, by interacting with the physical, social, and psychological aspects of the context in which the choice is made.
Concretely, nudge theory is a technique linked to behavioral economics that aims to encourage behavior change, but in a “gentle” way and without constraints or sanctions.
The most famous example of using nudge is the fly trick at the bottom of the urinal. In 2016, Amsterdam Airport managed to reduce the interventions of its household teams by 80% by drawing fake flies on men's toilet bowls. This was meant to encourage users to “aim right.”
Chez Fifty, we prefer the same approach for our nudge training method. Once connected to the platform, the employee receives suggestions for actions to be performed, on business skills as well as soft skills. These recommendations will allow him to truly put his theoretical knowledge into practice.
Nudge training method: allowing the employee to be a real agent of change
Businesses have understood the importance of training and the need to develop the skills of their employees. But despite all their good will, it is clear that, all too often, the results are not there and the sessions of training are a waste of time. The reason is that employees sometimes have trouble moving from theory to practice, probably due to a lack of evaluation or post-training follow-up.
It was from this observation that we had the idea to create our SaaS platform. Thanks to an algorithm based on artificial intelligence and advances in behavioral economics, this tool makes it possible to multiply the transition from theory to practice by three.
Thanks to the recommendations for action that they receive on a daily basis, the employee will be able to put into practice the theories he has acquired during his training, and will thus be a real actor of change.
